This site should have a buy/sell/trade section for anything that has to do with the Wii. That would be so awesome!

We have to think about that - not a bad idea...

I think should be only IR-Pen's, light array's & VR Googles. My experience in moderating motorcycle forums is as soon as you put a forsale option up you get every drop kick and their best mate selling everything from lounges to sinks! Then when the sink rocks up and doesn't look like the picture it is just ALL BAD!!!

I would also be concerned about unlicenced Nitendo murchandise/components attracting unwanted attention by our good friends at Nitendo.

By sticking to user manufactured items specific to the Wiimote Project you are keeping the bullsh** out and protecting the project.

Perhaps in Whiteboard section an option called IR-Pens 4Sale, where threads can only be started by approved sellers. General Users can can reply to the thread to ask questions. All transaction details must be done away from the forum (ebay/paypal). Maybe add a new position called "Seller" which are authorised to start new threads in 4Sale forums.

Well that sounds good! I mean like only stuff that has to do with the wiimotes and the projects on here. No lamps or sinks. And there should be categories like wiimotes, ir pens, ir leds, stuff like that. And the site would not have be part of the transaction it will just be between people. Well i hope you decide to go along with it!

Hi,

I was thinking about something I thought might be fun.  Can we do an IR Pen-off?  We select a panel of judges within the whiteboard forum.  These judges would receive pens from several of us sellers so that an independent matrix can be created.  This single thread table would allow new members to select the option that most closely meets their needs.  We can call it the 2008 IR Pen Challenge.  I would recommend a panel of 5 judges.  Judges would get a huge influx of pens so we would have to be a bit strict on what constitutes a seller.  Pens left over could be redistributed to the entire community based on a lotto.  Proceeds could also go to the hardworking folks that are working on the software parts of this initiative.  I donate what I can, but there are many hours that are going into the software part of this.

Thank you guys for all that you do!

I'm sure there are plenty of other things to consider, but I thought I would provide a list I would want to see if I was ordering a pen.  I'm biased of course, but I'd like to help us establish a market place of sorts for our online pens.  I think we're all proud of what we've done and it would be great to see a bit of friendly competition.

Thanks,
Tino

I like the idea of a by sell trade section of this forum. I think it will be a easy place for those looking to buy parts for the Wiimote. I currently sell the pens I make but I would also like to find other accessories, such as projectors, stands and mounts.

thats my 2 cents anyway

I agree that a separate forum for those of us selling our wares is a good idea. And certainly categories would be especially appropriate so the reader/searcher can find what he/she wants. Policing the bull**** as benpaddlejones puts it will be the kicker. I have my singular topic in the IR Pens forum and post only to it presently with updates. At some point I will stop making pens because I'll get tired of it (getting closer every day). I don't want to ever be looked upon as "Oh, him again?..." Whatever results, I hope the project continues to grow and more folks see the benefit intellectually and financially.

I honestly dont have a problem with making this section, I just don't have the time to monitor it.  This site and its staff can not be held responsible for any scams or any illegal activity.  If you all would like a Market section then I will need to have a moderator for it.

Anyway Let me know what you all think

Dice
I am keen to moderate the thread under the following considerations:
1. No nitendo items or rip offs (wiimote's, wii's, nunchucks, etc)
2. No non Wiimote Project Related items (furniture, kitchen sinks, etc)
3. If a selling thread only sellers can start discussions (buyers can use a wanted/trade thread)
4. I will be able to make a sticky thread explaining rules etc of the thread.

Hey Benpaddlejones and Everyone else,

I have created the Market section and also have re-organized the forums and combined the Johnny Lee Project to one Cat.   The Market Section I directly above this.  If anyone has any Idea of any other part that needs to be added and/or changed please post here or pm your ideas.

Thanks
