I have got the black wiimote, Vishay TSAL6400 IR led.But i am not able to use it as the wiimote doesn't detect the IR light.if we place the wiimote in a place and try to calibrate its not calibrating till we move the wiimote in the direction of the point on the screen. We are following all the steps shown in the johnny lee video but we are not successful.the calibration doesnt come like as shown in the video.please help.M tracking with the wiimote and checking it using wiinremote.

Have you tried using Smoothboard? The calibration viewer in Smoothboard will allow you to check whether the Wiimote detects the IR point.

To get started, you may want to take a look at the Smoothboard User Guide
http://www.smoothboard.org/manual/

Basically, you will need to face the Wiimote towards the center of the screen and start the calibration. Use the IR pen to click on the points shown at the corners of the screen.

Then, the calibration that have been completed will appear in the calibration view of Smoothboard.

Hi Rishi,

From your description, you may have a faulty or non-genuine Wiimote, as this is a common issue for low quality Wiimotes with bad IR camera sensitivity.

This is the most important thing about it. For finger tracking, you will need an IR on the fingers for tracking or via reflection from an IR array. So it is very necessary.
