It would be better if you get an original Wii Remote instead. Third-party Wiimotes may have bad IR Sensors which may not be suitable for the interactive whiteboard functionality.

Thanks Boon Jin. I have read discussions and threads that Windows 7 users have challenges on bluetooth and/or wii remote connectivity and/or white board software. I am using W7 professional. Is this something to worry about (or) can I go ahead and buy original wii remote?

If you managed to get the original Wii Remote (not the Wii Remote Plus), it would be easier as you will be able to use Smoothboard's SmoothConnect directly with the use of the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack.

However, if you are using the Wii Remote Plus,  you will need to use the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack and Smoothboard Air with Duo or the special compilation of Smoothboard 2.

Just be careful in trying to purchase an original Wii Remote (without the plus).  I purchased one from amazon.com that turned out to be fake and the performance was terrible.  If a seller is selling a new Wii Remote without the plus, it is probably fake as Nintendo stopped manufacturing the older version over a year ago.  I would look for a refurbished one or a used one from a trusted retailer.

I currently use a Nintendo Wii Remote Plus with a toshiba bluetooth adapter and find it very simple to connect everyday.

Good Luck!
