Interesting question, as few issues:
1. We are not in breach of any intellectually property rights (unlike some (not all) Homebrew)
2. We openly advocate the purchase of licensed devices
3. Many users have purchased hardware that would not purchase hardware otherwise (The most important item)
Yes we are a niche market and I don’t expect one of Nitendo’s Sales executives to start hanging around this site to build sales but I have no doubt they are more than happy to let us roll. They have Wiimotes sitting at the front of a classroom filled with children, which is the dream of every youth marketeer.
Unless Nitendo's marketing department suddenly decides to destroy its brand they will be quite happy to leave us alone. Given the above points one day VR might end up in a Wiigame (obviously with Branded VR Goggles $$$).
The only way I see Nitendo affecting us is if they put pressure on the IP hosts of the Wiibrewers and we accidently get caught in the crossfire.
Which is why in my external links I have been very seelctive with our external connections. Wiibrew like us strongly advocates licensed hardware and working with the patent.
What is important we are not doing anything Illegal or in breach of Patents. Otherwise MS could sue you for using one of their Mice on a Mac?
