just replaced my laptop and now i have an issue when i use the visual keyboard;

when i try to move the keyboard on the screen, the cursor freezes and i have to go to my laptop and use the mouse to "free-up" the cursor. So the keyboard is useless....:(

everything was fine with the old laptop (vista).

Hi,

The problem that you have may be due to the UAC control of Windows 7 that limits the software such as Smoothboard controlling certain parts of the operating system.

You may use the Tablet PC Input Panel that can be found in Start Menu->Programs->Tablet PC and switch to the keyboard.

Alternatively, you may launch the Smoothboard software as an Administrator.

Works like a charm. Setting up administrator rights fixed everything.... :D

You may want to try the Tablet PC Input Panel too as it allows you to directly write and recognize your handwriting.

you can buy (or make) stickers to put on your keyboard. probably a lot easier than using a virtual keyboards in windows
