Wiimote Desktop VR/Head Tracking / Re: IR Glasses

Using an IR LED with 3V means they get burned immediately.
Have you tried that?

Because I'm using an LED that has a forward voltage of 1.3V (LD274/Q62703-Q1031) with 2 button cells and it works just fine. With only one button cell it doesn't shine as bright.

IR Pens / Re: IR LED - Does it have to emit a light?

Yes, it has to emit light. But it's OK if it only emits infrared light. And you cannot see infrared light with your bare eyes. You can however use a digital camera or a webcam to check if the LEDs are on since such cameras capture infrared light.

It's a CMOS image sensor. You can find more details at Wikipedia:

To this image sensor it doesn't make a real difference whether it captures IR or visible light.

You cannot directly grab the video data from the Wiimote. The bandwidth of the bluetooth connection is probably not high enough for that.

If you need an IR camera, you can go and take the IR filter out of a standard webcam. There are plenty tutorials on that available, for example this one:

There already is a topic on that in the support section.
Try installing the DirectX Software Development Kit (SDK). This fixed it for me, but i am not sure if it also works for others.

What kind of error did it come up with? What did the error-message say?

Try installing the DirectX Software Development Kit (SDK). It's different from the normal DirectX which ships with Windows.

Fixed the problem for me.
