Wiimote Friends

I would like to thank Wiweeyum for his research assistance. I have no idea about gaming or what makes a good game so this is all his work:

Pretty much everything else is a repeat or different iteration of the same. Not much has really been done to get anything exciting done with the wiimote as far as gaming goes. Nothing really NEW at least. Most of these are things like the last one, are just wrapping gameplay around the VR tracking, or just attaching the wiimote to the computer and playing an already made game. I didn't see much that really wowed me. edit a challenge perhaps! benpaddlejones :)

The idea of a fully virtual world is possible. A good tech demo here of a fully swingable lightsaber... something any gamer/starwars fan has wanted for years.

Looks like a fun arcade game. I've not played it, but the wiimote hookup is a hack. Apparently you have to do something to keep beat to the music, so the balance board comes into play. The music is tripping me out...

Everyone wants to play a first person shooter. Here's Black Hawk Dpwn: Delta Force, running on Ubuntu.

Oh here's a cool one! It needs work, but the idea is cool. A java programmed ping pong game making use of headtracking.

Two wiimote minesweeper... kinda goofy.

This here's a couple of demos using the wiimote in a number of different ways.

I actually like this one. Life sized Pong using the wiimote as a tracking device and a projector to display the board on the ground. I like the fact that it's actually interactive and not just sitting on your butt.

More headtracking. It's kinda obnoxious, so keep the volume low.

Thanks Wiweeyum

:P No problem. If I'd known you were just going to copy and paste my descriptions, I'd have worded them a bit better. No worries though!

Let's get something new and exciting going!
