When I connect to my wimote, my wireless connectivity seems to be interrupted. My signal strength is fine but web pages refuse to load or load VERY slowly. As soon as I disconnect the Wiimote I'm back to normal speed. I did some very superficial research and have found other reports of Bluetooth connection interfering with WiFi connections. Oddly, however, if I am broadcasting a Bluetooth signal, but am not connected to my wiimote, my wireless speed is not affected. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Are there any solutions or workarounds?

Hardware/Software Configuration:
Windows Vista 32 bit (SP 2)
Dell Latitude E6400
Bluetooth: MS Bluetooth Enumerator, Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Mini-card (not sure about driver ver.)

Wiimote Smoothboard / Invalid License Key Fixed...
« on: October 10, 2009, 06:25:22 AM »
Update: Received an e-mail from Smoothboard explaining that the license key must be reset. The registration system is a bit quirky but Boon Jin makes up for it by quick responses to challenges. Smoothboard is still the best product around!

Wiimote Smoothboard / Changed computers licence key invalid
« on: October 09, 2009, 12:32:55 PM »
I am having trouble moving my registered version of smoothboard 1.6 to my new laptop. The registration key that I used will not work on the new machine. I uninstalled smoothboard on my old machine but the uninstalation process does not release the registration key. I e-mailed [email protected] but haven't heard anything yet. Anyone had a similar experience?

IR Pens / IR Pen Review
« on: March 28, 2009, 07:49:31 PM »
Over the last several months I have had the opportunity to use three IR pen models in my classroom with my Wii interactive whiteboard. I have just finished a blog post in which I review all three and select my favorite.

Here are the pens that I reviewed:

1. The "MacGyver Pen" (homemade)
2. penteractive.us
3. The Groove from irpensonline.com

benpaddlejones:

I created another bluetooth connection video for my personal blog. Feel free to add it to your excellent collection. Thanks for doing a great job moderating and adding content to the wiimote project!

Say Hi! / Hi from Southfield, Michigan!
« on: January 18, 2009, 04:46:31 PM »
I love using the wiiboard and my high school students have enjoyed it as well. I teach high school biology which is a hands-on subject anyway. The Wiiboard has allowed me to turn my static projector screen into yet another opportunity for my students to personally interact with virtual cells, review games, and PowerPoint presentations.

The Wiimote project has been a great help to me as I set up my Wiiboard.

Watfordo:

I have been using the wiiboard in my classroom since September. I am in the same situation as you though-- I'm trying to work out the bugs so that I can introduce other teachers to the technology in the future. I'm also sharing the technology at an educational technology conference in Detroit in March.
