hi there
i bought i wii controller second hand from a boot sale about six months ago and wanted to see if i could get it to work with the music software i use, ableton live.
i'm using a hp650 laptop which has no bluetooth built in so i went out and bought a usb dongle from maplin, which came with some bluesoleil drivers on disc. the dongle shows up in devices as ISSCEDRBTA. under add devices in device manager i added the wiimote and selected 'don't use a passkey'.  i installed the bluesoleil drivers and used the bluesoleil interface to connect and it connected and worked fine. i was then able to use it to control parameters in ableton live and it worked well and was plenty fun

the other day i tried to connect it again using bluesoleil as usual and it wouldn't work. when i selected 'pair' it then asked me for a passkey, which i obviously don't have. i also have since acquired another wiimote and that wont connect either. it asks for a passkey too. they are both detected but will not pair. the same if i try to connect one or both of them

there isn't anything wrong with blusoleil or my dongle as it connects to my phone easily and is paired with that.

i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling bluesoleil, demo and full bought versions, different stacks - the broadcom, toshiba and windows ones, none seem to work. i uninstalled bluetooth drivers in device manager and started again. i have been trawling the internet and various messageboards and forums (including most of this one) for three days now and have drawn an absolute blank.

i have tried connecting with the two buttons on the front and the red button in the battery compartment, taking the batteries out and leaving it for a while, everything i can think of and every bit of information i could find but nothing will get me past the passkey page.

i wanted to make sure i have exhausted all of my ideas before i posted here but now i have so i decided to ask for some help in the hope that someone can offer some advice that i may have somehow missed?

i'm really puzzled because i know it does work as i have been using it with ableton for about six months. it's not like i don't know if it will work or not and i'm not sure if i am actually trying to do something that isn't possible. i know it is possible - i followed this instructional video to connect first and it was fine -

can anyone offer any help please?

many thanks

Wiimote Interactive Whiteboard / WiiMote Whiteboard "Desktop/Laptop ED"

I Was Thinking that it would be a good idea to map keyboard controls for White board like "right mouse click" could be space bar for people that use white board for home use on there computers. the keyboard mapping could be a background app that starts with your programs filename.exe so you could have different controls for drawing and games.
Wiimote Desktop VR/Head Tracking / Mocap boxing

Anybody remember this arcade game from Konami?  Looks like the technology is available now to bring this hit-title home (pun intended! Tongue).

Other games like this could be released as well like that cop game that had multiple sequels or that Samurai game which I've only seen at amusement park arcades - Blade of Hono
Wiimote Desktop VR/Head Tracking / Head tracking with CyMouse?

Hi there,

The effect of head tracking in that video looked so incredible, I dare to ask a non-Wiimote question: shouldn't you be able to do the same thing on a PC with a CyMouse (seen on sale
for $60)? This device supposedly tracks the xyz position of a detector on your forehead. I bet the changing point of view would be very easy to implement in any 3D graphics for an experienced programmer. Stereo shutter glasses also exists for PCs for less than $100, so your DARPA-quality Virtual Reality should be pretty straightforward to obtain. The CyMouse webpage hasn't been updated since 2004, but you can still buy it, and I suppose it works.
IR Pens / Possibly very cool IR pen?
« Last post by shawnmichal on March 03, 2015, 04:52:57 AM »

Hey everybody,

I've been using the following optical mouse in the shape of a pen for a few years:

When the tip (or the "cradle")of this pen touches the underground it lights up red like any other optical mouse. Now, I have no idea how optical mouses work, but if this thing emits infrared light then couldn't it be used to communicate with the Wii-Mote? This would be really cool since you don't have to push any button to draw on the whiteboard. Does anybody know if the red light of optical mouses are infrared lights?
I can't test this myself right now, unfortunately, because I am traveling and I left my pen mouse at home.
IR Pens / IR Thermometer

I'm just wondering if one of those IR thermometers would work? Is it made the same way or does it function the same way? If so could this be used instead?
currently,sky3ds was the only one cart to support 3ds games on 3ds v9.5.0-23 . ,US based reseller, this is the place i got my sky3ds and gateway from,if you need, you can give it a shot, arrived my CA door within 5 days, free shipping, cards work well.
We just received a 3DS firmwware update a few minutes ago, version 9.5.0-23u, this minor firmware update fixed some web brower problem, also further improves to overall system stability and other adjustments in order to enhance the user experience as usual.

I've just updated my n3ds xl system firwmare to the latest 9.5.0-23, and I can confirm now, this sky3ds cart has bypassed the new firmware update directly, and it is working great on the latest n3ds xl console, the same as my old r4i gold 3ds rts flashcart.

If you are looking to buy a 3ds flashcart for playing 3ds games on 9.5.0-23u, I'd recommend sky3ds, which is the best 3ds rom capable flashcart out there.
