Holy Wow. That was quick. It's nice to see this is getting grabbed up so quick. I think that if this game pulls it off right, it'll lead to companies taking the technology seriously. If this game succeeds, and the tech gets attention, I'd be willing to bet money on it being featured in first-party games to come, as well as a selling point of Wii 2. Who else is excited?
General Discussion / IR Camera Distortion

Does the camera return normalized undistorted IR dot positions ?
I would assume it doesn't and just return raw ccd processing results.
Did you hear of anybody who tried to compute the typical OpenCV calibration file for the wiimote camera ?

(You need a disto calibration file if you really want to get accurate position estimation)

General Hardware Talk / Nyko Wireless Nunchuk
« Last post by shawnmichal on February 27, 2015, 11:27:15 AM »

This is info from my experience, I can't pair the wiimote with the nunchuk in my home, the blue light in the wiimote dongle won't blink, but when at the store, it is instantly paired, may be because I don't have Wii console, so I guess there must be some connection established first between Wii and dongle, just my observation though.
General Hardware Talk / Wiimote VID
« Last post by shawnmichal on February 27, 2015, 11:25:33 AM »

I had always thought that wiimote has one and only one vid 0x057e,but today I found out a wiimote with vid 0x0001.
I connect a wiimote via BlueSoleil on PC and I check the device manger. Since a new "Bluetooth HID Device" item has been added under "Humen Interface Devices", the item shows vid_0001 in detail property.

Is it an exceptional case or a normal one?
if wiimote has different vids, how could I identify it from other hid device or joystick?

Anyone could help me? I appreciate.
General Discussion / Re: Using Gestures with Smoothboard and StrokesPlus

I use the Smoothboard toolbar for keyboard shortcuts like ctrl+z, ctrl+c, ctrl+v
Gestures I use to run certain programs.
'P' = Paint
'G' = Google Chrome
'R' = Roll20 website

that's it for now, but then again, my setup is very new and I'm still trying to solve problems I have, which are:
- holding shift button while clicking things, which is needed for software I use
- the ability to hover the mouse somewhere, so dropdown menu's can actually drop

Also I still haven't tried certain things yet, like using multiple pens. Maybe I can do something with that to solev my troubles.

Hi RodiV,

Thanks for sharing the tips. :)

StrokePlus does look like a great match with Smoothboard.

What are the shortcuts that you have set?

By the way, if you have any feedback for the Smoothboard software, please do tell us. Thanks!

General Discussion / Using Gestures with Smoothboard and StrokesPlus

Hey there,

I'm totally new but just saw the forum is not that active anymore. However, As I'm Playing around with my setup I finally found a way to use gestures with my IR Pen. As I've tried the search on this forum to see if you guys found anything, I'm sure other people will do the same one day. So Here's my sollution for it:

I've installed Smoothboard for my Pen and activated the Smart menu when I hold.
When you get the smart menu, you see a Dial with options but also some sort of D-Pad as an option. This option is like holding the middle mouse button.

With the StrokesPlus software you can select what causes to trigger gesture recognition. For this, select 'Middle Mouse Button'.

Now, When you go to smart menu and select the D-Pad, middle mouse button is triggered and you'll be able to make any gesture work.

Good luck
