Ive built an IR pen
- 1 battary 1.5v
- Buutom
- IR led

Its work when i put it close to the wii camera . but when i put it more then 20cm away from the camera . it dont reconize the led . i tried to get new battary but same thing . i get on the Wiimultipointgrid to see that - i click the buttom close to the camera(wiimote) work . go away some more 13cm - work . 20cm start blinking(FalseTrueFalseTrue) more then that - nothing .

what do u say ?
what is the problem ?

i have the same problem with some leds. what led is the best for great distance?

To save you from trouble of testing out the various IR LEDs, you may want to just use the Vishay TSAL 6400 with the wavelength of 940nm.

For the issue of the the previous post, it may be due to the IR LED having a not optimum wavelength or low powered. Also, it may also be caused by a faulty/non-genuine Wiimote.
