Hi all!

First of all let me congratualte Johnny for his great projects, especially the headtracking video. Though it doesn't seem as a big invention on its own, Johnny managed to put together many things that already existed to create something great that a lot of peaople are fascinated by. I can only compare this to Einstein who, when developing his relativty theory also "only" brought things together, that already existed. Sometimes, this where real genius shows itself.

I found another WiiMote project by Oliver Kreylos from the University of California. He is also a VirtualReality specialist.
You can find his Project page here:
and the corresponding Video here:

He also did some astounding things with the WiiRemote escpecially 3D-Tracking, which is what Johnny is currently working on (as I suppose).

Maybe this thread can be a collection for other WiiMote Projects found throughout the web...

Thank you Johnny for your Projects, and Dice for this Forum. Great Work!

That is a very cool project!

I have one concern, regarding future games built on that: The Wiimote has to see the beacon at all times, to be able to calculate yaw - not practical, when you're fighting for freedom with a light saber :)

It might still be very useful for other applications, even games, where you don't have to move the controller so vehemently.
