Hello,

I've just uploaded a video explaining how to build an infrared pen from a LED light PEN (1€)

You get a light IR pen and there's no need to solder anything.

have you used this pen with the whiteboard app? It doesnt seem like the wiimote will pick it up when it is behind you.

Seems like a great idea, I'll be looking for this pen or something similar.

By the way, why do you say that this wouldn't work with the whiteboard app? The only reason why I see it wouldn't is because the IR light is inside the holster but that shouldn't really make a difference.

It will make a big difference, the board would have to be very reflective, and it would probably not work as well on LCD screens.

well you dont want a shiny board because the idea is to have a projected image on it so you dont want the image bouncing off too much or you will not be able to see it very well.

you want the IR to be visible to the wiimote so you dont have to make the led stick out, just put something that will disperse the light on the end of it like a dab of hot glue or a semi transparent piece of plastic. doing either of the last two will tak away some oomph but will make it so that it can somewhat be seen

I've tested this IR pen on my TFT screen and on a whiteboard and it works fine.

The wiimote reads the reflection of the IR LED.
