Hi,

Im trying to make my IR pen but I just could find a switch that has 6 legs.

How do I solder this kind of switch??

I this sort of switch:


I also have 6 legs but Im only using 1 side of the switch (so now we are down to 3 legs)

(the pic its straight from the side so we see only 3 pins but there is 2 layers there)

Here the IR is connected to the center pin and the battery is connected to the rightmost leg

wich pins to use determines by the way you want the switch to work

Is it a closed circuit that you shut off when you press button or is it off until you press your button that closes the circuit


I hope you understand my attempt to explain here...

I'll try to solder with the same configuration to see if it works and let you know.

I do understand what you explain and I think for the IR pen we need it to be a closed circuit until we press the button right?
How do I know what to solder in case I'd like to test the other kind of working of the switch?

simply try with a regular visible led
