hey guys I'm sure this has been answered many times but I can't seem to find a good one.

Where can I get the recommended IR LEDs or a similar one.  I'd like one that i could get in a store like Radioshack so i don't have to pay $5 shipping for a $.50 LED.  I had seen someone in the IR pen working hardware thread (third post) that said he had an excellent on from radioshack but I couldn't find it on the website.  anyone have recommendations?  I'd really like model numbers but it's not necessary.

Hi
I have had no success with radio shack LEDs.  I have found that using the vishay TSAL 6400's offer the best performance.  I guess it depends what you use it for.  I currently use it for a whiteboard setup and use a pen with 2 IR LEDs.  I find that this greatly improves tracking ease.  Wiimote placement is not as critical.  My suggestion is bite the bullet and pay the shipping.  I have found it is well worth the cost versus the wasted time and frustation.  Good luck

You could buy the one on eBay. Wink wink.  Not to pressure sell but it currently has about an hour to go with only one bidder. It would save you the trouble of getting the bulb and making your own work. If it doesn't go for too much, I'll offer some more. I have plenty of bulbs and love to tinker and solder.
