Purchase 1 x UV security pen off ebay or similar, or even a shop lol..cost me £3.00 off ebay anyway.

Unscrew top and replace the UV with an equivalent IR emmiter (no wires to add or solder, just bend and snip to match)

Remove pen and chop off the pocket clip bit if you want a really small device (the end is solid, so no nasty hole).

Howzat.....? I know it isn't one of them pressure sensitive devices, but I'm sure with a bit of creative thinking it'll be easy enough.

Just thought I'd send this post as a thanks for all the info I managed to derive from the forums. Hopefully will save some people,some time, money, and effort. Of course, I fully appreciate there are those among us who just like playing and reinventing the wheel. I do it all the time....probably just have now lol

Oh C'mon, I did mention creative thinking!! See the new pics below. I've unscrewed the top and spun it the other way round to see if the hole is big enough for the IR to slide through. As you can see it does. So....all that is left to do to satisfy your desire for greater protrusion  is to hacksaw a few mm off the threaded end, thus, the top will then screw further down the IR body. Hope that satisfies ;-)

Can you post the specs on the IR LED you used?  I was thinking about ordering this pen and I also want to find the right IR LED.
