-80mW forward current

the TSAL 6400 already beats it, as the 6400 has a 100mW power output, and thus is a stronger IR source, and is more easily detected by the wiimote.

Yes slighly underpowered and small (3mm) case will reduce tracking. May be good to make a small cluster but the TSAL6400 is still king.

I think we should be getting sponsorship form Vishay I bet their sales have gone through the roof!

Please read: http://www.wiimoteproject.com/ir-pens/electronics-101-sharing-my-mistakes!-***-updated-***/ (http://www.wiimoteproject.com/ir-pens/electronics-101-sharing-my-mistakes!-***-updated-***/) this will tell you the specific characteristics you are after.

The site your looking at does not provide full specs, so I will only be guessing. I suggest you try one of the distributors from this list: http://www.wiimoteproject.com/for-sale/vishay-ir-led%27s/ (http://www.wiimoteproject.com/for-sale/vishay-ir-led%27s/)
