Hey dudes, I don't know anything about IR's, but I made a IR bar (to use wiimote as mouse) with TV remote controller IR's. Could I use this kind of IR (to make awith the whiteboard software?

those IR LED's should be good enough to use. heh, you could even use just a remote control but you will have to find a button that has a continuous on, like volume down, because if it sends its code chances are its flashing some series of flashes so your tracking might be jumpy. you can certainly pull them out though, but it may be hard to find voltage for them.

I had the issue that was stated in the last post.  when calibrating the screen it would flash multiple times so it would make it almost impossible to calibrate.  Unless you found a button that didn't flash like Atomriot said.

I think some of the IR remote that are not as complex like for a smaller device (Ipod, car sterio, etc.) would work better, but i have not tested that.

just pull out your video camera or camera phone and look to see if it flashes or not, chances are that every button is a sequence
