Title: What about laser pointer like ir-pen?

What about laser pointer like ir-pen?  Somebody here try this? I think will work on white board (use projectors). On tv, and monitors probably not work.

I think that yes, IR pens used to be work perfectly on TV and monitor, I had not actually use it but as it is laser pen then it must will work out in all the electronic gazettes.

To work with the Wiimote you will need to get a IR laser which is invisible. Therefore, there may be safety issues using the IR laser as we are unable to see the IR laser. However, if you have an IR laser with a suitable wavelength, it should work.

Why? Not necessarily. But I agree with you in terms of wave length.

Yeah, if the wavelength is within the IR range, then it is invisible. :)

Maybe you mean the wavelengths at the border with the visible light. If so, the Wiimote will not be able to track without any modifications as the there is a bandpass filter.

Agree!
Some lights have a wide range of waves - candles, flame, day light. I think, laser point have wide range? Maybe in some keychains. I will test it today )

IR lasers are very expensive. AND they seem like a good idea at first but it's almost impossible to write with one. Besides, if you just use Smoothboard in presenter mode you get a laser pointer like effect. If you really need to see a red dot you can change your mouse pointer graphic to a red laser dot.

Regarding the issue of not being able to see the laser, it could probably be overcome by pairing the invisible IR laser with a visible red laser. The two would have to be as close to each other as possible and parallel so that the red dot would show you almost exactly where the IR laser dot was and the Wii mote would hapilly see a 940 nm wavelength dot.
