Last night I went to radio shack and this is what I bought to build 2 pens. Will this work?

I can get more wire as I have a lot of that so. The LED's have resistors built into them so I didn't bother buying them. So would this setup work?

EDIT: Here's the link to the LED... http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?summary=summary&techSpecs=techSpecs&currentTab=techSpecs&custRatings=custRatings&features=features&accessories=accessories&productId=2062568&support=support&tab=summary

I'm looking at it now and it I don't see the word IR anywhere which is really ticking me off.

The switches are fine but you need an IRLED from Radio Shack see my post. http://www.wiimoteproject.com/index.php?topic=1077.0

Yeah, I just realized it wasn't an IR LED so I'll just pick one up later tonight.

Can you explain how I use the switches though? I have a basic idea of how to wire them but not exactly sure.

This is a very simple schematic of a light pen. Its as simple as connecting one end of a switch to one side of the LED then connecting the other end of that switch to the power source, then running a wire from the other end of the LED to the power source.

I don't know if this will help you but IR Leds has different sides for + and - polarity.
Check this image:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:%2B-_of_LED.svg

You must connect the + of the battery to the + of the led...

Cheers
