Hi Everyone,

I absolutely love what Johnny Lee has done with the finger track....does anyone know if there is programming for tracking my finger and therefore creating various sound elements through moving my finger around on the screen....or am I way ahead of myself???

this is a very cool idea, you could make your own Wii-theremin

alternatively, you could just have an initialization method that lets you define the areas of the screen or of space, and then if a signal is caught there, like a finger blob or an IR source.

hmmm, i may play with something like the wii-theremin tonight see how cool we can make it.

Details, details. Things to do. Things to get done. Don't bother me with details, just tell me when they're done.

Well...there is a wiiinstrument setup for the mac where one could use the wii remote to control sound....but not just theremin sounds...but actual sounding instruments..like a violin per say. Just overall wondering if we could take what Johnny did with the finger and mix that with using the wii to control instrument sounding sounds.

Take a look at this too..there are instances where people are using the wiimote to control ableton live: http://youtube.com/watch?v=iJ4r3k_M7X8

Overall I'm rambling but my mind is thinking combining these 2 elements (finger tracking & controlling sound software)...

;D I have an idea.....could the finger tracking be used in something like Max/MSP???? For example, currently there is a MAX/MSP external for the wii remote. Would it be possible to use the IR array concept, and the idea of reflective light in another program such as Max/MSP which works very well with Ableton Live in elements of tracking and sound....hmmm.... am I rambling again...see why my name is ur2much...lolol :D

as far as wii-theremin project goes, i got it trying to play a sound but i am having trouble playing frequency because i am new to directsound and found out how to play a buffered frequency but it seems a little different than playing sounds dynamically from an input like the IR points the wiimote reports.

anyone have any experience with directsound? i will keep playing with it though
also, a neat thing would be to tie this into the accelerometer too but one step at a time right.
