Okay so i imagine alot of you already know candles give off Infra-Red Light, i knew this but didn't see any use in it until last night, using a tea light candle on each side of my TV, i could use the wii-mote completely fine from the other side of the room with no sensor bar plugged into the wii.

For people wanting to recreate some of JL projects, instead of creating yourself an IR-Array you could use candles, you would however need around 3 to get enough light.

Secondly, does anyone agree that using Candles ontop of your TV is nice? I'm not talking practical but it does save energy and give it a less robotic feel.
I am going to try and include some candles in projects but as of only testing them last night as a sensor bar only i have no idea about how it compares to a sensor bar over distance and accuracy only that it felt perfectly fine to play, unless of course there was a gust of wind and they went out!

It's a cheap replacement if it turns out ok.

And it's a quick way to play with the systeme without having to solder an IR pen just to try things out.
