Every time I click "Connect WiiMote", before I even get a chance to press 1+2, I get a windows, "Please tell Microsoft" kind of error.  Thoughts?

Two things - is your computer updated to latest version of Net Framework 3.5 SP1? And what type of bluetooth stack are you using? Pentabulous requires the Windows bluetooth stack and compatible bluetooth adapter. That's the best place to start.
