Other / Increasing Strength of IR light Using objects
« on: March 04, 2008, 03:28:48 PM »
Hi,

So I'm working on this project with my wii remote where I want to reflect the IR light using reflective tape. But I want to make my IR light stronger. Are there objects i could use to make the IR light from my wii remote stronger (the sensor bar isn't cutting it). Would anyone recommend purchasing one of those IR light sources from a camera store or using some sort of object set in between my reflective tape and my IR source to expand the spectrum of which the IR light covers (therefore increasing its strength).....hmmmmmm????  :'(

Wiimote Finger Tracking / Tracking using other programs
« on: January 30, 2008, 09:49:52 AM »
Hi guys,

Could the finger tracking be used in something like Max/MSP? For example, currently there is a MAX/MSP external for the wii remote. Would it be possible to use the IR array concept, and the idea of reflective infrared light in another program such as Max/MSP...

;D I have an idea.....could the finger tracking be used in something like Max/MSP???? For example, currently there is a MAX/MSP external for the wii remote. Would it be possible to use the IR array concept, and the idea of reflective light in another program such as Max/MSP which works very well with Ableton Live in elements of tracking and sound....hmmm.... am I rambling again...see why my name is ur2much...lolol :D

Well...there is a wiiinstrument setup for the mac where one could use the wii remote to control sound....but not just theremin sounds...but actual sounding instruments..like a violin per say. Just overall wondering if we could take what Johnny did with the finger and mix that with using the wii to control instrument sounding sounds.

Take a look at this too..there are instances where people are using the wiimote to control ableton live: http://youtube.com/watch?v=iJ4r3k_M7X8

Overall I'm rambling but my mind is thinking combining these 2 elements (finger tracking & controlling sound software)...

Hi Everyone,

I absolutely love what Johnny Lee has done with the finger track....does anyone know if there is programming for tracking my finger and therefore creating various sound elements through moving my finger around on the screen....or am I way ahead of myself???

Wiimote Finger Tracking / Re: Finger tracking crashes as soon as loaded.

Hmmm..I had the same problem with the crashing...however my error said something about not having a graphics adaptor to support textures..and something about Direct 3D...could it be that I need a better graphics card??

Hey guys....just some suggestions. I'm a bit electronically challenged..lol..but I found these items assisted in the creation of the project:

IR LED kits...which can be bought from ebay..It's setup so that it is very simple to put together. or check out dalewheat.com and scroll all the way down when you get to the page..you'll see something that says IR spotlight...it's perfect!

As for reflective material...go to a bike shop and buy reflective tape there. It's much more readily available...don't break your mirror..that's 7 years!!
