IR Pens / Push Pens Pressure Tip Pen
« on: May 27, 2011, 08:33:36 AM »
I'm trying to start selling some hand made pens on eBay.  I would also like to give some free pens away to anyone who has a relatively successful blog and wants to review one for me.  The price is $15 shipped.  The price is slightly higher on ebay due to sellers fees.  If you are interested then send me an email and I can send you a paypal link.  Let me know what you think.  Here are the specs and some pictures, I'll be throwing up a website soon.  Thanks for looking.

If you're just looking for the quick and dirty version of these pens you can check out an instructable and make your own.

LED - Vishay TSAL6400
Battery - Single AAA
Switch - Pressure Tip Activated

Ok, here's the instructable.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

I'm working on an instructable with pictures.  Basically I am using a tact switch.  I too had really sketchy performance with spring methods.  It was just fine for mouse clicks but not reliable for handwriting or long drags.

I finally figured out how to make a decent pressure tip switch pen.  It only took me a year or so.  Just thought I would share with the forum since a few people were helping me on it way back when.

I have considered making these and selling them on ebay for $10 or $15 since it seems like the cheapest commercial ones are being sold for 2 or 3 times that much.  It was very frustrating for me because the pressure tip is so much more intuitive for hand writing and for my middle school students to use but I didn't like forking out so much money to buy one.  Finally got the one I like. :)

Any reason you couldn't use the tide to go pen body instead of using another marker body?
