Wiimote Interactive Whiteboard / Handwriting with the IR Pen on the Whiteboard is awful
« on: March 22, 2008, 06:00:25 AM »
After spending quite some time getting the whole setup to work, I find that the handwriting on the board is almost unusable in a teacher classroom. It is not smooth and linear at all, but appears in steps and is distorted, whether I use Paint or any other small editor. I suspect this is linked to the Wiimote resolution, but I'm not sure: 1024*736 sounds reasonable to me for handwriting on the board. So is there hope that this is actually linked to the IR Pen, i.e. LED or battery that I've used, or to the positioning of the Wii versus the screen. I have placed it on top of the projector and tried distances from 2 meters to 3 meters. Our NGO was hoping to use it for a distant learning projects in emerging countries but this won't make it unless I solve this problem.
