Wiimote Finger Tracking / Re: Finger tracking not working with 8 IR Leds

If you see Lee's videos, he use IR array with finger tracking, but for the other videos he don't use arrays of LEDS, he only uses IR projectors, right?

Wiimote Finger Tracking / Wii Multipoint Grid
« on: January 22, 2008, 11:58:55 AM »
Ok, i connected the Wiimote to my built-in BT device on my laptop, recognized but when i run the WiiMultipointGrid sample i cannot see a point moving around there. I put in front of me th Wiimote and picked some aluminium paper around my fingers to reflect IR, but the Grid doesn't show anything, regardless of the low distance... :/

Ok, fixed, i did by running the BT Assistant at the icon located in tasks bar. YAY!

I have the same issue :(

My laptop is a HP Compaq nx6325 with a built-in BT Broadcom device and windows XP, i installed the BS 5.x version, removed and installed 2.x and i have the same dialog message which tells "Please insert a Bluetooth device"

Btw, the Windows' BT manager detects my BT device, and detects my Wiimote (Nintendo RVL-CNT-01) but it claims for a PIN code to synchronize the devices.

How can i avoid this?

yay! At last! i have my Wiimote on my hands! Now i have a new problem :(

I tried to connect via BlueSoleil the Wiimote, and it doesn't detect my BT device. I read that there weren't problems with the built-in device at a HP laptop. Btw, the windows BT manager detects it, but it claims for a PIN to synchronize the devices, how can i avoid it?

I guess the best chance to get a reflective image is envolving your fingers with some kitchen silver paper. I repeat "I guess", I don't have yet the Wiimote, but soon, soon :P

Hi mates!

I had the same issues of bubble message "Can not start Bluetooth. Bluetooth hardware is not found"  :'(

btw, i scanned the neighborhood devices with the built-in Microsoft's bluetooth scanning system, and it detects, for example, my mobile (and i hope my future Wiimote :P ). The real question is: can i do finger tracking without BlueSoleil?

I guess the system is about something like this:

1)Bluetooth scanning system(Microsoft's or BS) detects Wiimote
2)You start the Sample Grid Program for Finger Tracking
3)This program shows you the interaction between your Wiimote and your fingers.

correct me if i'm wrong, i'm very interested in this project  :P

yeah, the LED panel can be bought in a hardware store, only i have to know how to plug the power source the panel and i guess it's ok. So, the Wiimote it's not conected to the LED panel, right?

looks like a truly hacker task, but i don't have any knowledge about electronics or such thing, maybe the components are in a hardware store, right?
