I'm in the same boat as McClure except I'm using a Dell desktop and using the wiiremoteconnect.rar.  does not detect the device.  per below, should I:
-update the OS and all the drivers?
and
-do i need to hold the 1&2 button when i click on "connect"?

I unzipped the wii remote connect.rar and ran the .exe however still getting message that Wii remote not detected.  is there any additional configuration i need in order to get this to work?  i'm running XP.

i'm not sure which stack is being used, if any?

i did not install anything, just plugged in usb bluetooth device, win xp auto detected it, put batteries in wii remote, that's it.  tried to run software but said device not detected.

do i need to install a stack?

I purchased the bluetooth dongle Abe UB22S from Lego for Win XP.  It did not detect the WiiRemote. Is there some other configuring I need to do to get it to detect?

Hi,

can someone recommend a bluetooth device that is compatible w/ both Win XP and the Wii remote?  preferrably reasonably priced.

I'm going to attempt the wii whiteboard so if there's any other advice/tips, pls feel free to include.
