Wiimote Interactive Whiteboard / Re: Somes questions... :-)
« on: November 10, 2008, 10:30:57 AM »
Thanks for answering my questions.

My apologize for the visa  ;D.

I understand for the Wavelength.

- How the Wiimote understand when we're touching the Whiteboard and when we're simply moving the Pen in the air ?
It doesn't. If you have IR-Pen away from calibrated surface (whiteboard) will give incorrect location

I didn't want to say that... I understand when we're pointing the 4 "dots" : this is the area where the IR Pen is recognized.

With my question was : how the Wiimote recognize when we're "writing" on the board, or if we just have the pen in the Hand, whatever the position the pen is (in the area or not) !  ;D

Wiimote Interactive Whiteboard / Somes questions... :-)
« on: November 10, 2008, 12:40:34 AM »
Hi everybody !
First, I'm sorry for my english, I'm French and young : my english is not perfect.  :D

I've seen somes videos about "Wiimote Whiteboard" and I think this is interesting.

But I'm not sure to understand everything... (I'm sure I don't  :) )

The trick is :
- The Wiimote is connected to the PC with Bluetooth. Look at a surface. (Whiteboard for exemple)
- The PC is connected to a Video Projector which send the Desktop image on the surface.
- We use an IR Pen to "write" on the Whiteboard, the Wiimote receive the IR Pen's position.
- The Wiimote send the information to the PC with the Bluetooth
- We use an emulation software to recognize the information gived by the Wiimote as a "cursor".

But I've got some questions, I've read some dock on website, but the English is not very easy for me... :)

- How the Wiimote understand when we're touching the Whiteboard and when we're simply moving the Pen in the air ?
- This doesn't work with every programs ? If it works like a "second mouse", it should ?
- How the relation between IR Pen and Wiimote does work ? The Wiimote has to see the IR Led ?
- Basically, when we're playing Wii, it's not the Wiimote that "send the position" to a captor ? Because, here, It's the IR Pen that send is own location to the Wiimote... I don't really understand.

So, I like this idea, I don't know if I'll try to do this at home (I don't really need) but I really want to understand the trick.  ;D
It would be great if somebody could answer me. After research, I don't find the answer for those questions, or the answers were ambiguous.

Thanks ! Have a nice day (It's 7h30 at home :p )

PS : Again, I'm sorry for my english, tell me if there's "Misspellings" or other wrong things.
