Other Projects / WiimoteTUIO Update: v0.4 + source
« on: February 04, 2008, 05:18:46 PM »
Ok, so i made a crappy Wiimote too TUIO messages/protocol thinggie/application and need someone daring enough to test it..
I'm an absolute C# beginner (in which this is written) and it might not even run at all :P

Its a quick hack based on the wiiwhiteboard code from Johnny Lee (www.johnnylee.net).
Includes WiimoteLib 1.2.1 from Brian Peek (http://www.brianpeek.com/)
Includes a simple Multitouch Photo Puzzle game from Laurence Muller (http://www.multigesture.net/)
Includes TUIO Demo from ReacTable (http://www.iua.upf.edu/mtg/reacTable/)

What is it suppost to do?
Everytime a wiimote event is received it sends out an TUIO message.

TUIO messages?
Yes TUIO, its an message protocol based on OSC which used by some MultiTouch applications.

How do i you use it?
Extract zipfile..
Open wiimotetuio.exe
Run the calibration program like you would with WiiWhiteboard (only 1 time needed)
Run FlashOSCv2_0_4.jar (you need java 6) and press start (default settings are correct)
Run PuzzleGame.exe

Also possible,
Open wiimotetuio.exe
Run TuioDemo.exe  (close FlashOSC first! otherwise it will complain about connection busy)

Known problems:
Some TUIO applications rely on the 2Dcur s x y X Y m W H messages instead of the TUIO 2Dcur s x y m r that i send..

Please let me know if it works for you..

Updated it... fixed the incorrect TUIO packets... only exact x/y positioning needs to be fixed..
Update #2.... fixed x/y coordinated, please download version v0.3
Update #3.... new version + sourcode available at http://code.google.com/p/wiimotetuio/

Programmers Den / WiiMoteLib update for 4 IR sources
« on: January 28, 2008, 05:06:33 PM »
Hi all,

I've modified the WiimoteLib to support up to 4 points instead of the 2 IR dots the original library tracked.
Could be used for doing 6DOF headtracking like http://idav.ucdavis.edu/~okreylos/ResDev/Wiimote/index.html on windows :P
I attached the source..

The RawMidX/Y & MidX/Y as now done very ugly, that still needs to be modified.. sorry about that.. you could just delete the first 2 if's which does the 3 and 4 point avarage.. doesn't always work correctly when 1 of the ir leds go out of screen..

Project Ideas / TUIO protocol support?
« on: January 27, 2008, 09:37:48 AM »
It would be great if someone could extende the WiiMoteLib to support TUIO, the TUIO protocol is used by alot of Tabletop/Touch table applications for multitouch tracking. If the wiimote lib could send out these udp packages then it would be possible to use these applications aswell :)

there are a couple cool Flash & Actionscript implementations using TUIO that would also work great with the wiiremote in this way :)
