General Software Talk / Re: Alternatives to Smoothboard software

I actually work for the DERNSW program (small world and all). The group policy prevents any *.exe apps from running. Java apps will run but the MS Bluetooth stack is not compatable with the Java whiteboard.

If you read the FAQs on the NSWDET intranet you will see that additional software requests are in the pipeline. When this comes through i suggest you put in a request. Becuase of my role in developing the application and this forum it would be a conflict of interest if I did.

General Discussion / Re: Short throw projectors needed?

Nope any projector will do (depending on light conditions) but as desk mounted one will require you to really think about your presnetation position. A short through is big $$$ a long throw on adesk is $ and a ceiling mount long throw is $$ which is a nice compremise.

For ultimate Wiimote location please read: http://www.boonjin.com/smoothboard/index.php?title=Mount_and_position_the_Wiimote

We need more info to help you solve this. All BT is 2.4Ghz more down to the exact models. You will notice considerably less BT issues in the recent past as BT has been standardised alot more with windows 7. I suggest suck & see (unless an expensive unit)

You can use two projectors with your desktop extended, two Wiimotes & Smoothboard or Jave Wiimote IWb (not sure on new the recent free apps), should work. The orginal post is quite old and Smooothboard ha shad several distribution ssince.

The Java Wiimote IWb will work for Mac too under this setup.

It looks the part, but I have found with many of tehse cheaper IR-leds that the specs and the reality are not quite aligned. Always a case of suck and see.

I think discussing any interactive technology related to Wiimotes is appropriate to this forum.

idproc
Search surgeforge I'm certain this has alreayd been done, but was not very stable connecting multiple Wiimote can be problematic with many stacks.

Feel free to ahve a play and post your iterations here as there are many that can help you test and develop.
