IR Pens / Re: What is the Wiimote's Preferred Peak Wavelength???

Hi Gavin,

I'm the TSAL5300 guy :) just because my local store didn't have the 6400.
We search in big catalog some identical IR Led and found the 5300.

Undcon send me some 6400 IR Leds and I made this home test (with Arduino, my new toy ;) ):
http://www.wiimoteproject.com/ir-pens/electronics-101-sharing-my-mistakes!-***-updated-***/msg8368/#msg8368

Almost a year ago (May 21, 2008) I made this question:
"Can we say that TSAL 5300 is better than TSAL 6400?
Have we a 'new' winning IR led?"

I can't tell you witch is the best IR Led but I think it's fair to say they are both good IR Leds for Wiimote Whiteboard.

UPDATED
The Missing Test ;)
With the help (or the leds) of Undcon and my leds I made this test:

Vishay TSAL 5300 vs Vishay TSAL 6400

Sorry about the technical conditions and the bad photos...
And... Undcon: Sorry the long delay... but here they are!!!
'Read' this images with the Datasheet of the two Leds (links in my wiimote web page http://clinik.net/wiimote/wiimote_info_my_pen_2.php -hidden on vertical text).

about my new toy... check Arduino stuff in this good Portuguese store: http://inmotion.pt/

UPDATE after Ben :)
New set, new fotos, and changing the position of ir leds. Same results!

vbcrayon,

I will be waiting!

Estou curioso com a tua tradução para alguns termos que me deixaram algumas dúvidas... por exemplo:  "static" ou "adaptive".
Fico à espera da versão BR para me ajudar a melhorar a versão PT.

Um abraço e bom trabalho.

Hi vbcrayon,

Please let me know your notes for Wiimote Whiteboard Brasilian translation.
It could help me to improve my Portuguese version.

Updated!
Now with the 'positive' vs 'negative' IR Led info.
"As in other diodes, current flows easily from the p-side, or anode, to the n-side, or cathode, but not in the reverse direction."

Check it here:

And NO problems with my bluetooh

Check my http://clinik.net/wiimote/wiimote_info_my_pen_2.php to make your IR Pen.
