Wiimote Interactive Whiteboard / Re: Whiteboard and Multitouch
« on: June 30, 2009, 12:20:36 AM »
Has anyone found any programs that can do the whole multi-touch thing. I would love to make a table for my classroom that would allow several kids to play at once. I came across this website the other day if anyone knows what to do with them:
It has quite a few apps to download but I can't figure out how to work them.

just wondering if anything has happened with the video of this conference or the presentation you gave. Thanks

Well, it's almost done. There are a few changes we're still working on (like the discussion board) but for the most part, is up and running. We created our site for teachers. It has tons of links that would work great for schools as well as tutorials on how to get started. If you're a teacher, this is the best place to go for help on the using the Wiimote in the Classroom. If you have any input, suggestions, or links, let us know. We are tryng to provide schools with as much help as we can.

In powerpoint once you start a slide, bring you mouse to the bottom right corner and hit the button that will give you several mouse options, one of them it to turn your mouse into a pen or felt tip marker (i like the marker better because it's thicker). I use this almost everyday in my class

I would use powerpoint and  put action buttons on your state map that will take you to slides with all the info you wanted. Also in powerpoint, you can turn your mouse into a pen so you won't need to download annotate pro or anything.

Here are some pics from my pen. You can see the red momentary switch in one of the pics. in the wrist band is my battery.

I  read this post the other day and it got me thinking. On my drive home today I came up with a concept and tonight I finished making it. I used an old glove. I cut off everything but the index finger and wrist band part. I attached the IR light to the back of my finger and the momentary button to the front of my finger. I ran the wires down the glove and hid the battery pack inside the wrist band. Now I have a pressure button pen that's on my finger. I tried it tonight in my classroom and it works very well. Plus because of the switch on the front, I know where I have to hit everytime to get what I want. It looks a little ghetto with my duct tape, but it's pretty awesome anyway. I'll put some pics up tomorrow after I use it with the students.

Thank you all for you help in this. I really wish I knew more how to do this kind of stuff. I have a ton of cool ideas for programs for the classroom but no idea how make it. Maybe over the summer i look into some class or something. Thanks again for you help.

My bluetooth would be whatever flavor I bought at Walmart. It doesn't say what kind it is on the usb stick thing so who knows? I with you on the google earth thing and I'm also making some Review games that would involve the kids running up to the board and hitting the correct answer. I thought I could tie in the wiiboard to that as well. Anything to make my class more modern and fun for the kids.

i have read and read and read your smoothboard site. It's a huge help. Where do you find the time??? Any idea on when the video will be up and what it will be called? Thanks for all your help, my classroom of 6th graders thank you!!!

I have downloaded the Wii board controller and every time I hit connect, it keeps saying "hit the red sync button now". I would love to use this in my classroom along with the wiimote whiteboard for faster scrolling. ANy ideas on what I'm doing wrong. I'm not a very big techie. I tried connecting it like I do my wiimote to the bluetooth, I tried just the wii board program and nothing. Any help or pics or even video would be great!!!!

I keep checking the site and emailing whoever I can. Is there a video out there somewhere that I'm not finding. I have been really excited about this video. We tried to get our principal to send us to Australia, but for some reason, it just wasn't in the budget!!!
