General Hardware Talk / Re: Wiimote/Wifi Interference?
« on: September 17, 2011, 10:08:22 AM »
How old is the equipment?......here's  a link to a 2002 HP pdf discussing bluetooth and wifi problems.
Personally, I've never had issues.

Bluetooth & Connectivity Help Center / Re: Connectivity catastrophy

I'm running Vista 64 on a HP touchsmart and I have to physically reset all my usb connections after I shut down or they don't work.  Just so happens that my bluetooth is the only one really keep plugged in.

I just starting playing around with this yesterday, and it's fantastic.

Great Job, Gary.

Thanks for you're reply boonjin.

The problem I'm having occurs with all USB devices - so it's more of a problem with the way my machine handles USB devices than anything else.

I just have to remove the USB device prior to logging in and then plug it back in after loading.  Unfortunately, in the case of bluetooth, that means it's easier to pair my wiimote through the bluetooth wizard after logging in.

I'm working with a couple of vista forums to try and get this USB problem resolved.

Thanks
Dale

Wiimote Interactive Whiteboard / Re: Whiteborad and Multitouch

Just posted this in another forum group and I want to verify my answer and see where multitouch is at.

The problem, as I understand it, is how a cursor maintains focus on a particular user as all the IR light sources are toggled on and off - unless the screen is segmented.

Wiimote Smoothboard / vista 64 and Smoothconnect
« on: December 22, 2009, 08:49:43 AM »
I always have issues pairing my wiimotes with my Vista 64 machine using smoothconnect. I had the same issues with Thex's wiimoteconnect.  Eventually the pairings work, sometimes on the first go, sometimes 1 works and I have to restart smoothboard and try to get the second one to work or some other weird combination.

Is there anything I can do other than get rid of Vista 64 asap?

General Discussion / Re: Multiple Pens ? Or Is only one possible?

Since infrared falls on a spectrum of different wavelenghts and frequencies would it be possible (providing the LEDs exists) to differentiate multiple lights sources that way?

Promethean has a free personal edition of ActivInspire that allows you to run with other IWB systems, and its pretty feature rich.  ActivInspire also allows you to to import Notebook and Powerpoint.

The wiijiiboard.com (banner ad that sometimes appears) appear to have a permanent power solution that doesn't involve a battery pack

I use Kid Pix Deluxe 4 School a lot in my lab with no problems.

Here's a link to video of my lab with a 1st grader using kidpix on the Wiimote IWB

Wiimote Smoothboard / Re: Smoothboard 1.5 Release

Right now I'm just using it with a Mouse.  I'm also using PowerPoint 2007.

Should I hook up and see if there is any difference with everything setup?

The ability to access the image files is really nice.

My results while in PowerPoint using the floating toolbar in PowerPoint mode are still just a little off.  Sometimes I have to double or triple click to get the Pen, Highlighter to work or to get back to the cursor.

I'm running Vista 64 bit on a HP touchsmart.

If you'd like a screencast of the behaviorl let me know.  Overall, everything you've done with Smoothboard is fantastic.

little bit of a problem

using the floating toolbar in powerpoint mode.

1. In a powerpoint slideshow
2. Floating toolbar is set to powerpoint

3. Right Click button changes to the Red Pen
4. Double Click Button changes to White Pen
5. Have to go to Annotation to change the pen back to a cursor

Nice UI design on the floating toolbar btw

If you want me to post a screen cast of the behavior let me know

Really like the whitesceen option - and that you don't need to be connected to a wiimote for the software to work.
