Wiimote Project

I have rigged up a wiimote with a 400ma / 3v power supply but bluetooth does not connect reliably. So I want to try 1000ma / 3v which people on this forum have reported success with.

Does anyone know where to buy such a power supply in the UK ?

I have followed a method which has been successful for others, connecting a 3 volt power supply into a rechargeable battery pack which takes the place of ordinary batteries. I also bypassed the rechargeable batteries and wedged the red button so it will sync every time I turn on.

Unfortunately it is not detected by bluetooth. I have noticed that with the leds on the wiimote, 4 flash then 3, then 2, then 1. So I'm guessing this indicates a lack of power ( Please advise if I'm wrong )

I have measured the voltage output and it is about 3v. The current from the power supply is 400ma but the output from the battery pack is about 240ma. ( There may be a resistor in the battery pack )

What kind of current should work with the wiimote ?

Just thought I'd add an idea which I don't think anyone else has mentioned.

For a free, secure wiimote mount, try using a retort stand and clamp from your school science department. Infinitely adjustable and stable - it works perfectly !
