I've been trying to get this thing connected for weeks. I've read everything on all the pages and bits and pieces of each one have helped me find the solution. If this is all posted somewhere else, sorry, I could not find it.

The widcomm 5.5 drivers would not work. In fact, none of the widcomm drivers would give me the option to skip the passkey part. I got rid of the widcomm drivers and tried to use the XP BT stack, but no go. I wasn't sure if they were installed, so I made sure I had at least service pack 2 (I had SP3), I also did windows update many times to make sure everything was up to date and still, no luck.  I also searched for the XP drivers by themselves and had no luck finding them on the microsoft site. I happened upon a message board where the guy posted a place to download the XP drivers. I downloaded the drivers and then followed the procedure listed at  http://www.shootingsoftware.com/Widcomm.htm
After following this procedure, the wizard gave me the option of skipping the passkey and then, no problem connecting.
