it works with every application in windows, because all it does is position the mousecursor and click (or click and drag). So you can paint in photoshop, paintshop and paint etc, but you can also browse on the internet (keyboard is available onscreen @: start->all programs->accessories->ease of access->on-screen keyboard )
So it's really awesome. What it's not doing is something some tablet pens can do: measuring pressure. I've seen it at a friend's place, and the harder you push, the thicker the lines get in photoshop. So you won't be able to do that, but you will be able to do a lot of other stuff as well :) so it's just a mouse replacer :D

Wiimote Desktop VR/Head Tracking / Re: DesktopVR Mediaplayer 4 Ridefilms.

it is possible, but the problem is, that you won't be able to fully look 180° because the films arent made for that. It really is a good and interesting idea, I'll look into it, I should be able to make this, but I'm fairly busy right now, so maybe in a week or 2 ;)

That's usually the best approach ;) I've seen many people state that they're going to make the next World of Warcraft and such, but that usually ( 999.999 out of 1.000.000) fails :P. So it's good to orientate, see what you'll be able to make, see what you can already do, or see what you can't do and what you want to learn;)
anyway, good luck on whatever you're going to do

Welcome to the forum (i'm a fellow dutchie :P). There are a lot of cool ways to play with this, but I myself am using the headtracking in combination with a 3d engine (free, but with a watermark): Truevision 3D. A 3D engine will help you load character models or cartoon things. If you need any help with this, I'm here! :P

Project Ideas / Re: Headtracking -> Headbanging

i think the wiimote wouldn't be able to track the IR LED's that fast, but that's just a speculation. I'd go for the other aproach, where you mount the wiimote to someone's head (helmet?), then read the accel states of the wiimote

well another piece of advise: don't buy wiimotes and IR led's before tests, it hurts the results (experienced it myself:P)

if you're going to try a .net language while you're used to java, I'd recommend C#, since the syntax is about equal to java's syntax

always welcome to ask questions / use the search function :P

push button triggers the left click.
@Thisisjon: Most pens that have been made so far did prove it's not that handy the way you describe it. The wiimote picks up 2 IR blobs when you're holding the pen at certain angles. That would mean unexpected/wanted clicks. That's why everyone is talking about this flashing;)

ahh i see;)
well, there are videocards these days that take 2 PCI slots (well the space of them on the back of your computer) :P
anyway, how does the pen work? does it have a good precision?
