Applications / Tracking Fingers - makin it REAL ?

Hi .. guys .. I found no better place to ask .. so I decided to post it here ...

Has anyone made the tracking fingers under linux any real implementation ?

What I mean .. I would like to use the tracking fingers for everyday use... using it simply ..
instead of mouse ..

Click start ... Firefox... whatever ... spinning the cube

If that has been done .. can anyone refer me to the correct place/howto ?
