General Hardware Talk / Re: Voltage for Original Wii Sensor Bar?
« on: December 06, 2010, 11:30:40 AM »
I just took a voltmeter to my wii. it was puting out a clean 12 volts.

Thank you very much! In fact I didn't find an accurate answer yet. Your answer will help me to improve the "fake" sensor bar I bought. Some LEDs broke quite fast.

But I have to admit that I didn't found time to try more with the sensor bar and the wiimote.

Hi there,

does anybody know the voltage which is supplied by the Wii console for the sensor bar? On Google I found several different results.

Hi there,

I live in North-West-Germany, very close to the Netherlands.

My first job was radio technician but I work as web programmer now for over 8 years.

I like technical stuff of almost al kind. I don't own a WII but the Wiimote projects are cool ideas I want to realize too.

IR Pens / Re: Re-build Microlenser

Hi all,

thanks to admin for the interesting and amazing project ideas. I'm fascinated by the whiteboard idea. So I ordered a Wiimote and 2 sensor bars. They have not been delivered yet.

In this thread I found the lenser and the IR LED. I ordered them too. They arrived today and I replaced the LED.

After modification it looks like this:

I wanted to make it detectable from the sides too so I placed the LED in front of the pen. I have no idea whether this will work. The output angle of the LED is quite small.

PS: @dice: This one has a momentary switch.
