I've installed 13 machines and this is the first time this has happened to me.  Using the windows stack I get to stage 7 of the "Connecting the Wiimote to a XP/Vista/Mac Bootcamp Microsoft Bluetooth stack" first connection sequence where it reads "If this is a first time connection you will need to wait for the HID drivers to be found and installed. This may take a while and requires admin privileges on your Windows user."  And nothing else happens.  We've waited there for a while several times.

Any help would be much appreciated

I found a 3V 300mA over the weekend and tried it.  The was reading %132 on the wiimote.  MY wiimote is working, but I would definitely check with a voltage meter as BPJ suggested earlier in the thread.

prezi works great with the wiimote IWB and with linktivity.

Promethian also offers a personal edition of their IWB software for free.  Its pretty feature rich, but its a huge program.

Yup, got it from Penteractive.  I teach K-6 computers over in Owosso, I've helped a few other teachers in my district setup so far.  I've used IOgear bluetooth USBs from Walmart but all my recent ones have been with the micro.

I'm outside of Flint in Flushing, and orders from Penteractive arrive in 2 or 3 days.

Good Luck

Here is another page concerning 1) Deleting 3rd party stacks, and 2) modifying the bth.inf file

I find it a little more straight forward then the shootingsoftware site

Good job, very fun   :D.....

I noticed in one of the pictures that the trigger button worked to disperse the candy.  Would there have been any posibility of having the trigger button activate the momentary switch?

Just to be fair - I've used the Micro for several installations (4 XPs and on my Vista Machines) and have always had it work nicely.  Whenever I set one up I first use the procedures found here

On my Vista 64 bit laptop, I always have to unplug the bluetooth dongle from the USB port and plug it back in when I'm turning on the machine otherwise nothing happens with bluetooth.  Does this for two different brands of bluetooth dongle, other than that everything works great.  This doesn't happen on my 32 bit vista desktop.

wondering if anyone else sees this and is there a solution?

I've seen wiimote USB rechargeable battery packs, but I've only seen 5 volt USB AC chargers.  Does the rechargeable battery have a voltage regulater in it that allows the USB charger to be plugged into the wall?

To me BoonJin's wiki section under  "Powering Options" suggest you can, but since I've already fried two remotes I'm hesitant to try without more clarification.

After that project you may be able to fool yourself, as I have, that you can actaully do electronics.

after my successful pen projects I fried two wiimotes.   Bugger, bugger, bugger    :D

I teach k-6, and I understand the frustration of having the same questions asked over and over. :)

I've been at this for 2 months, and I've setup 8 other teachers without any failure due to responses I've read on this forum, and so I really appreciate it.   I apologize for the redundancy but all the different stacks, drivers, and poking around areas of the computer I've never worried about before gets confusing.  As for myself, I more of a visual person-so a 45 second screencast that shows me, for example, how to get rid of an unwanted bluetooth stack, is more effective than a 1 1/2 pages of text.

As for the problem I described above on the XP machine, I used a different bluetooth device and everything worked fine.

Have a great night everybody

Hi Thex
This is what I receive when I click "Connect" on an XP machine.  I don't have any problem connecting on this machine otherwise, just when I try to use Wiiconnect.  I can use java and smoothboard no problem.  Here's a screenshot

Hi Thex-

Great Job, its working on my 64 touchsmart

My HP touchsmart is a 64 bit machine. I know its not the same but I would be willing to help you test.
