Thanks for a great forum, I can see myself visiting here regularly.
Wiimote hacking is the most addictive thing I've tried in a long time.

I'm primarily a Flash programmer working in the field of GIS (www.hypergis.com), though my education is in electronics. I've just been granted some funds to build an interactive mapping table, based on Johnny Lee's whiteboard concept. More on that soon, I hope.

We've tried with touchscreens in the past, but they're just not big enough. Suspending a projector above the table, the size is not so restrictive and it should be both alot cheaper and more portable.
My daughter's school recently bought smartboards for most classrooms. They cost $6000 each. Although the Wiimote version is not quite so fully featured, you could build one for under $1000, which could have saved them around $100,000.

I've starting blogging my own findings at http://blog.opensourcery.net
So far I've built a USB sensor bar and a Wiimote stand for laptops.
I should be getting a bag of reflective motion tracking dots any day now, and then I think the fun will really begin :O)

Btw, anyone know a good cheap supplier for motion tracking markers? I had to buy mine from Australia, and the postage cost more than the dots!

Where there's a will, there's a workaround
