Hello everyone,

Just getting registered to keep up on the latest news.  Thank you, Dice, for putting together this forum.  I'm much more comfortable in forums than I am with blogging.  This just feels more natural (LOL).

I'm an electrical engineer and work as a systems integrator.  We just got a Wii this past Christmas and it's a great little device.  When my wife's uncle e-mailed me the video about the VR head tracking I just had to try it out.  My current laptop doesn't have S-video, but even trying it on the monitor was smooth.  This is definitely a technology that must be explored and employed.

Will do.  I ran a forum for a Jedi Academy clan (Elite Warriors {EW}: http://z8.invisionfree.com/ronin_/index.php?act=idx if you'd like to check it out) I was actively involved in a few years ago.  The current administrators have taken it and expanded it greatly, adding a ton of functionality to it and making the topic organization more user friendly.  I still keep in touch with the clan although real world responsiblities have replaced a lot of my game time.  I'll see if the current administrators have any good ideas.

Hey Dice,

One thing that comes to mind that would be a nice function to have is a 'Today's Active Topics' link.  If you check out the EW forum, there a link below all the topics in the middle that brings up the topics that have had posts in the past 24 hours.  It's a great way to keep up with recent conversations.  The 'Show Unread Posts' only shows the latest topics once and once you read them, they no longer appear on the list.

After browsing awhile, I've got another suggestion.  Does SMF allow for pinning topics so they don't get shoved down the list as the forum section fills up?  It would be good to have topics like "Welcome to the new Wiimoteproject.com" and "Why I Built This Site" pinned so they are right there for newcomers to read.

At the buttom you will see View the most recent posts on the forum but I m looking into other mods for this.

Thanks for pointing this out, there is a sticky option just didnt think to do it on those to topics.

I have run many forums before, SMF is the best free open source forums out there (and most secure)  I have run IPB and vBull but I did not want to pay the money for the Lic. and didnt want to use a pirated one :P

Well thanks for the comments and suggestions, im still very much working on the site.
