Title: wiimote for physics experiments
Post by: maurice74 on January 19, 2008, 08:08:24 AM
Hello, I am the author of

also reported here

I am interested in creating and developing a grid of people interested in the wiimote for physics experiments applications.
Your projects are very interesting, and also appicable for physics experiments (think about motion capture of points, calculating velocity and acceleration for example).
Thank you for your attention and please give me your feedback and sensation about developing this point of view.
Bye

Hello,

Very nice project !
I didn't manage to read the pdf file but the presentation
"http://www.physorg.com/news104502773.html (http://www.physorg.com/news104502773.html)"
gave me an idea of you work.

I was also thinking about doing a similar model for educational purposes and with fWIIne and simulink :

Great work with a wiimote ! I guess students are going to be interested

Hello,

I think this link may be usefull for using a wiimote in physic experiments : http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=249428

I'm going to buy a wiimote to try it.

I have just tested those Labview VIs for the wiimote. They are very well done, providing high level access to accelerometers, IR sensor, buttons and rumble.

In fact the main problem would be labview's cost next to free softwares. But if you already have it, jump on these wiimote's VI.
