I have two teachers with newly loaded software.  Everything appears to work fine on the software except occasionally when you click on the felt tip pen it brings up a print screen box.  And when that is happening if you click on the highlighter there is a quick flash of a menu box with that looks like if it would stay on, we could select different colors to highlight in, maybe, but it is hard to tell because it flashes so quickly.

These things don't occur all the time, but only in the power point mode.  Thanks.

The Floating Toolbar for Power Point have specific features that will only work within the slideshow presentation. For example, the Felt Tip Pen and Highlighter function can only work in the slideshow mode. You may refer to the Smoothboard User Guide at

If it is used outside the slideshow, other commands may be triggered instead.

The Highlighter button will automatically trigger the built-in PowerPoint's highlighter function with the use of the menus and thus you may see some flashes. It should not stay on by default.

As the Floating Toolbar settings are customizable, you may modify the keyboard shortcuts to leave the menu box with the selection of colors if you require it.

This can be done by setting Smoothboard to execute a combination of keystrokes.
