That problem feels like some software interaction. You might try looking through the system logs (right click "my computer", choose manage, System Tools, Event Viewer_ to see if you can discern the process or reason for the OS hang. You will hopefully see a process or PID each time you get a reboot. You might also try these drivers

I would also like to know if those of you experiencing that hang could list the most intrusive programs (anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-malware, anti-greyware), graphics cards and drivers you are using. In my experience those are the progs that cause the most trouble. It is also relevant if you are not using any sort of "Anti" software. Just hoping to see something across the board, so the coders in this forum could account for it in the next release.
