How far exactly is the correct distance between the monitor and Wii Remote?
I'm having a difficulty in getting my infra red pen to sync with the remote.

the distance is twice the screen height with the ir camera facing the middle of the screen

If the Wiimote is unable to detect the IR pen at a distance, there is a possibility that you have a non-genuine/faulty Wiimote or the IR pen does not have sufficient power.
