Title: IR Calibration: out of screen area

Hey,

I am planning to use the wiimote for some infrared LED tracking. I would like to use the calibration code. I was wondering if the IR light source goes out of the screen zone, but is still inside the viewing area of the wiimote, does the calibration code return negative coordinates?

I would love to try and see for myself, but do not have an IR LED yet. I have ordered some and should get them soon. In the mean while, if someone who has done this can let me know, it would be very helpful.

Hi,

The warper class will give the coordinates outside of the calibrated area regardless it is positive or negative.

For example in Smoothboard, the outside screen area is used as a toggle area for customizable triggers.

Does this mean that you should not use the area outside of the calibration targets for normal writing and drawing? I have had some difficulty at the edges but basically it works. Obviously the displayed screen is larger then the area inside of the target points. I would hate to lose all of that outside border.

In Smoothboard, the outside screen area by default is used for the Outside Screen Toggles which simulates the clicks similar to directly clicking on the Floating Toolbar.

If you would like to disable this feature so that you can control the mouse similarly like when you have moved the mouse outside of the screen area (the mouse will stick to the side of the screen), you can disable this feature by deselecting Outside Screen Toggles in Smoothboard Settings->Floating Toolbar.
