Hi everyone,

I've been following this forum for some time and reading about the interactive whiteboard projects. As far as I know, the best free open source software is Uwe Schmidt's Java Wiimote Whiteboard, but its a bit outdated for Windows users as the last version is compatible with Windows XP. I've been searching for a workaround in Windows 7 and could finally make it work forcing the BT dongles to use WIDCOMM's driver. This process however is highly impractical, as you have to make windows avoid detecting the dongle's driver by modifying system files. Furthermore, I have not been able to make it work on 64 bits distributions.

As the purpose of this forum is to develop free useful software for everyone to use, I think it would be a good idea to start developing a new software or an update of Uwe's Wiimote Whiteboard so that Windows users can continue using a free whiteboard. I think that with the help of the community we can develop a robust open source whiteboard application worth using.

Is anyone interested in contributing to this project?
Thanks!

Hi MC,

I have been looking for a chance like this for some time, so count with me in the development. Have you got any plans regarding which language you will be developing the app? I'm a Java programmer and I believe Uwe's software is made in java. Tell me when are you planning to start working or send me a PM.

Regards,

Agustín
