I am not a programmer, I'm actually work with animation and the wiimote+gimp have been a nice substitute to the lightbox.
I see something in the FAQ about the pressure, but doesn't look a nice idea. The thing infrared light have just two functional instances (on and off).
So I have a question:
Akyone think about the airbrush model? the airbrush is something like a "spray in a pen". to obtain mor size and less opacity, you just have to put the airbrush away from the paper.
The wii can track the distance between the screen and the IR pen?  The first video from Johnny Lee's web page (Tracking Your Fingers with the Wiimote) is kind close of my idea.

(P.s. I'm using the linux version of whiteboard)

Cheers!

I suppose you can detect the diameter of the IR-blob and code that if you add intensity if the diameter is small and decrease the intensity if the diameter is bigger.

(Just like an airbrush - the same amount of paint distributed to the bigger area)

I think this needs some sort of blob-visualizing i.e. show how big the blob of light from the IR really is

downsides? - bad blob (bad reflection), narrow/broad IR (angle of IR)

more ?

So, it is possible. Someone could made a beta test (i'm using ubuntu 8.04)? I do not know how to program this but I can test the real functionality of this feature.

"downsides? - bad blob (bad reflection), narrow/broad IR (angle of IR)" - Anyone have a good sugestion? the only thing a can imagine is to use a little lamp...

thanks to you Undcon

Cheers!
