Hi there. I am working on a big project that hopefully could include aspects of the whiteboard project. Unfortunately there are some problems to overcome first.

Some specs:
Bluesoleil (latest)
RapidResponse Wiimote (non-official)
Vista 32Bit

I have no problem connecting the wiimote and using it with glovepie scripts such as a tilt mouse. But there seem to be issues with the IR camera. Any mouse scripts that involve IR seem to work but not in a usable manner.

My main issue is with the whiteboard apps, the region next to "IR dots" always displays 1 2 3 4 even though it should be blank (even with my thumb over the camera). Smootheboard shows circles when i light up my IR pen but the calibration does nothing when i put it to the glyph.

Other issues are with DesktopVR which crashes every time i load it and just displays "fishtankVR" not working. That could be a different issue and i am only really concerned with the whiteboard one.

Any help on this would be greatly apreciated as i'm working on a music project which takes the interactivity the whiteboard gives and applies it to a virtual interface for an instrument(s) i am creating in Max/MSP. It has a lot of scope for expansion especially with the use of multiple wiimotes, multitouch and indeed people. So if anyone is interested drop me a line if you would like to collaborate over this christmas period.

EDIT: I dont yet have .NET 3.5 installed if that is necasary as my proxy wont allow the download and installation until next week.

Please let me know if the unoffiaial wiimote may be the issue as i can easily buy one.

Yes you need .net 3.5 framework installed until it is then you will have many issues with Smoothboard.

Given the quite high specs of teh official wiimote I question the abilities of a cloned device. But once you get 3.5 installed you could provide more insight to that.

If that is the issue with smoothboard then i'll hold off until i can access the microsoft site without my current proxy (at uni).

However, it is the same issue with johnny lee's wiimote whiteboard software, displaying IR dots present even with my thumb over the camera. Does his software also require 3.5?

UPDATE: I bought an official wiimote today and it works fine with both Jhonny lee's original and smootheboard. I'll post some info on my music based project over the next week or so.
